It’s true. There has been a mutiny at BitBoy Crypto & Hit Network, Ben Armstrong wrote after news broke that he had been unceremoniously dumped from the industry’s most successful cryptocurrency trading show. Armstrong, the creator of the BitBoy brand, had become one of the most influential trading gurus in the game, and likely the most loathed.
The Battle over BitBoy is only beginning, as Armstrong’s former employer Hit Network said the rift was caused by Ben’s relapse into substance abuse. Armstrong has been accused of plagiarism, intellectual property theft, and running a pay-to-play operation. He has also been filmed screaming at people at conferences, and is known to foster long grievances.
Despite the controversy, Armstrong has his supporters. He has been able to eke out a living or even riches doing just about anything online, so long as he has a few dedicated backers willing to buy his stuff or pay him attention to advertise against.
The only real question is whether Armstrong could replicate his prior success, assuming he’s lost the IP over BitBoy. Blockchain helps to fill the gaps of the current digital age by offering actual ownership of social media profiles and the like, which are otherwise controlled by faceless corporations and all too familiar tech billionaires.
