Alchemy, a blockchain developer platform, has unveiled AlchemyAI – a suite of tools designed to leverage AI to help web3 developers accelerate product development and gain faster access to on-chain data. The suite, which includes two flagship products, ChatWeb3 and Alchemy ChatGPT Plugin, will be available in the coming weeks.
AlchemyAI is part of a string of crypto companies that have recently announced plans to apply large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT to blockchains, said Arjun Patel, Alchemy product manager. We hope that AI will make it easier for more non-technical people to get into web3.
ChatWeb3, which is still in its beta phase, is an AI chatbot powered by ChatGPT. According to Alchemy, the tool was trained on over 1000 Alchemy docs and other crypto resources to help web3 developers build software faster and with fewer issues. AI assistance allows developers to access a range of predefined code snippets, templates, and best practices, reducing the time spent on repetitive tasks, Alchemy said in a blog post.
Elan Halpern, a product manager at Alchemy, told journalists that developers can use ChatWeb3 like a pair programming partner. For example, developers can ask ChatWeb3 to help debug an error on chain, Halpern said.
In addition to its in-app AI assistant, Alchemy has created a standalone plugin for ChatGPT that can be accessed via OpenAI’s Plugin Marketplace. Alchemy’s plugin allows developers and non-developers alike to get real-time blockchain information through natural language using Alchemy API endpoints, Alchemy wrote in its blog post. The plugin currently supports Arbitrum, Ethereum, Polygon and Optimism, and will eventually expand to all the chains that Alchemy supports.
