Amazon Managed Blockchain Adds Tools to Make Web3 Software Development Easier

Amazon (AMZN) has added new tools to Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB), its fully-managed service for building applications faster using provisioned blockchain infrastructure, to make it easier for developers to build blockchain-based Web3 software. The announcement was made during the two-day AWS Web3/Blockchain Summit in New York City.

The new tools, called Access and Query, provide serverless, scalable access to blockchains and access to blockchain data across multiple chains, beginning with Bitcoin and Ethereum, through application programming interfaces (APIs). Pricing is done through a pay-as-you-go model.

Amazon Managed Blockchain Access and Query provide friction-free access to blockchain networks and their data so developers can easily create their Web3 applications, said Saman Michael Far, Vice President of Financial Services Technology at AWS.

The potential use cases for the tools include custodial and wallet crypto applications and Web3 consumer engagement campaigns that use non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Reports have also suggested that Amazon is working on a NFT marketplace slated for release sometime this year, though the company has not yet confirmed the rumors.
